Thai Ngoc is a man that medical modern science says should have died in 1976 when he was robbed of the ability to sleep. The Vietnamese man, born in 1942 in a small village called Trung Ha in the Quang Nam Province said one of his greatest aspirations in life was to one day have a dream. And yet dreams have never come.

The man was the subject of two separate investigations looking into his strange condition. Some would say the potential for productivity one man can have utilizing all 24 hours in the day without sleep would be an immense boon while others say it is a cruel curse placed on him by nature. The investigations operating out of the United Kingdom and Thailand both independently concluded that Thai Ngoc was the genuine article as they followed him for several days independently with cameras around the clock.

The world's smallest wallaby and a frog with a Pinocchio-like nose have been discovered in a remote mountain 'lost world'.

The remarkable array of new species - which also include a bat that feeds on jungle nectar, a 'gargoyle-like gecko' with yellow eyes, and a giant woolly rat - were discovered in Indonesia's Foja mountains.

The creatures were identified during a four-week survey of the rainforest wilderness by Conservation International.

The discoveries include several new mammals, a reptile, an amphibian and a dozen insects.

Among them were a new imperial pigeon and a tiny forest wallaby that is believed to be the smallest member of the kangaroo family documented in the world.

Conservation International said the frog's Pinocchio-like protuberance on its nose pointed upwards when it called - but leaned downwards when it was less active.
The Foja Mountains, classified as a national wildlife sanctuary, are in the Indonesian province of Papua on the island of New Guinea and encompass more than 300,000 hectares of pristine rainforest.

With all the discussion around the net regarding the new 7 wonders of the world, I thought that a nice complement to that would the be the 7 wonders of the technological world. I searched around for inspiration and was surprised to find that no one has put together a really decent list. One of the prominent lists I did find included Microsoft Surface – how ridiculous! Admittedly, without computers, we would not have the Internet, but the Internet far supersedes the computer in order of importance. It is fair to say that the Internet is the new Library of Alexandria. The Internet now stores an immense portion of human knowledge and it is not just available to an elite few – it is available to every man, woman, and child in the free world.
